Ministry & Activities

Grace has a variety of ways to get involved in ministry as well as activities for the whole family.  Read on to find a way to get involved!

Sunday School: 9:45am

Grace offers Sunday school for children, monthly, at 9:45am.    All youth are invited to attend classes.  They cover a variety of topics and are geared toward the naturally curious mind of our youth.  Please check the

calendar  to determine when Youth Sunday Classes are offered next.  All are welcome!

The Nursery

We have a nursery for our youngest members!  On the second and fourth Sunday of the month, the nursery will be staffed so children can play and interact with caring adults, all the while hearing the worship service going on in the sanctuary.  All adults are background checked, and the room, and toys, are cleaned regularly.  On other Sundays, the nursery is still open, however, parents will need to supervise their own children while using it.  The worship can always be heard while in the nursery.

Worship

Our traditional worship service, at 11:00am each Sunday, reflects the traditions of the Lutheran expression of the church and uses liturgies from the Lutheran Book of Worship (LBW) and Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW).  Hymns are used from Marty Haugen, ELW, LBW, With One voice and Renewing Worship.

Holy Communion is offered at all Sunday services.

Lutheran Men in Mission

The men of Grace are offered the opportunity to participate in Lutheran Men in Mission.  This group meets on the fourth Saturday of the month.  LMM participates in the life of the congregation in a number of ways and is also active in a  variety of service projects.

Women of Grace

There is an active women’s organization at Grace that provides women with several ways to participate.  Some women meet every Tuesday at 9:30am to quilt, one of the many service projects that are ongoing.  Dorcas Circle meets at 9:30am on the third Wednesday of every month for fellowship and Bible Study.  The women participate in a number of service areas; hold an annual Women’s Banquet; oversee a number of meals throughout the year; prepare quilts and kits for use overseas through Lutheran World Relief; lead an annual Women’s Thankoffering Service and participate in local and national events.

Youth

The congregation has always valued the role of youth in the life of the church. Some activities involve youth of all ages, while some activities are focused on junior and senior high youth. Some of the activities provide service to the congregation or to the community.  Other activities are social in nature, and still others have a spiritual emphasis. Baptism, first Communion, and Confirmation are also important parts of youth life in the church. Please contact the Pastor if you have questions about any of these sacraments.

Music

Since the time of Martin Luther himself, the Lutheran tradition has always valued  the role of music in our worship and spiritual life.  Grace is proud to maintain that same tradition.

Adults may sing in the Chancel Choir as well as in smaller groups, or occasionally sing solos. Children and youth may sing in the Youth Choir. Individual instrumentalists also often enrich our services. And of course throughout the service, the congregation offers praise through singing hymns and worship music.

Dartball

All are welcome to join the team or just come and join in the fellowship on Thursday evenings.  The dartball season will begin again soon!  The first game is September 9th against Lockbourne.  Recently, our team won the most games ever in our history, and are proud to have made it to the playoffs.  We are looking forward to a new season!  If you are interested in joining team, please contact the office.  To see this year’s schedule, please click  HERE.
