Ministry & Activities

Grace has a variety of ways to get involved in ministry as well as activities for the whole family.  Read on to find a way to get involved!

Sunday School: 9:00am
Grace offers Sunday school for children and adults at 9:00am.  Pastor Heinlein teaches the adult class, offering topics that reinforce the theological foundations of Lutheran theology.  All are welcome!

Our traditional worship service, at 10:15am each Sunday, reflects the traditions of the Lutheran expression of the church and uses liturgies from the Lutheran Book of Worship (LBW) and Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW).  Hymns are used from Marty Haugen, ELW, LBW, With One voice and Renewing Worship.

Holy Communion is offered at all Sunday services.

Lutheran Men in Mission

The men of Grace are offered the opportunity to participate in Lutheran Men in Mission.  This group meets on the fourth Saturday of the month.  LMM participates in the life of the congregation in a number of ways and is also active in a  variety of service projects.

Women of Grace

There is an active women’s organization at Grace that provides women with several ways to participate.  Some women meet every Tuesday at 9:30am to quilt, one of the many service projects that are ongoing.  Dorcas Circle meets at 9:30am on the third Wednesday of every month for fellowship and Bible Study.  The women participate in a number of service areas; hold an annual Women’s Banquet; oversee a number of meals throughout the year; prepare quilts and kits for use overseas through Lutheran World Relief; lead an annual Women’s Thankoffering Service and participate in local and national events.

The congregation has always valued the role of youth in the life of the church. Some activities involve youth of all ages, while some activities are focused on junior and senior high youth. Some of the activities provide service to the congregation or to the community.  Other activities are social in nature, and still others have a spiritual emphasis.

Since the time of Martin Luther himself, the Lutheran tradition has always valued  the role of music in our worship and spiritual life.  Grace is proud to maintain that same tradition.

Adults may sing in the Chancel Choir as well as in smaller groups, or occasionally sing solos. Children and youth may sing in the Youth Choir. Individual instrumentalists also often enrich our services. And of course throughout the service, the congregation offers praise through singing hymns and worship music.

The Dartball season runs the end of September through February.  All adults are invited to join the team, no commitment is necessary, come when you are able!  Games are every Thursday during the season and are played against eleven other Lutheran churches in the Columbus area.  Games take place at home (Grace) and away and include food, fellowship and friendly competition.   Grace has been playing over 50 years and the fun continues!
